So I got my 4" flip, with DIY 5" shackles... off jackstands, the shackle angle is looking pretty steep to me, like maybe I should have drilled the holes like, 2-3" forward of the rivet holes.

Anyone else have issues?

How is it compared to this?

If your springs are really flat you can always try and add one to get some more arch to them and it will pull it up some.

It's... about like that I guess. At full droop, the shackle is just barely forward of vertical...

This thing will be abused on the rocks, so I don't want to flip a shackle forward. That kind of sucks.

Well at full droop you want your shackle to come all the way to vertical. That is how mine is set up now. i wish it were a little steeper cause my springs are fairly flat so not a ton of up travel. I'm going wheeling tomorrow so I'll see how it works.

Because of the way they are designed, leaf springs have a much higher spring rate in compression than they do in droop.

This means that leaf sprung suspensions have much more downtravel than uptravel, and hence why a very steep shackle angle is desirable.
