Here is my rear shackle completely compressed. The spring can't get a hole lot straighter than it is. What do you think?

This is the angle with only the weight of the frame on it. Do you think I should move the hangers back or switch them around so the offset sticks back instead of forth. Or do you think I should just leave it? You can see my son in the background trying to help clean!

I think It looks all right. If the top is completly compressed That isn't bad angle to me. Don't forget to cut those u bolts down. Unless u like the edwards scissor hands look.:)

Thanks guys! There were some questions raised about it in another thread so I got some better pics just to make sure.

Here's my shackle angle. Those are ORD 4" shackle flip brackets that have been flipped around and I'm using 7" long DIY shackles with 64" springs.

That's with a full tank of gas. With the weight of the blazer body it may have been too much angle, but I'm just adding a flatbed to it.

Actually now that I think about it, your angle may be ok, but I would setup some bumpstops so they stop the springs from negative-arching

It looks like a bit much to me, but I'd let it fly till you get the body, drivetrain, etc in and recheck...

It'll definitely change for the worse once the body is on it, mine looked just like that. I'm going to move my hangers back some but I'm going to wait until I have most of the weight on it for a final decision where to put them.

I used a come-a-long to compress the suspension until the springs were almost flat so I could get an idea of where I was at. I dont' know much about shackle angle, thats why I started this thread. Moving the rear hangers is not possible with the gas tank in and I'm putting the gas tank and everything else in before I put the body on. So I would really like to get this right before the body goes on. If you can tell from the pictures the rear hangers are offset toward the front. If I switch the left and right hangers i will move the mount back 3 or 4 inches. Thanks for all the help!
