shackle flip help

if i make a shackle flip where do i want the top of my shackle in relation to the bottom? forward or in back of and how much
also would it be beneficial to make a little longer shackle to help spring movement? thanks

If you are useing stock rear springs when you make your shackle, you need to move the hanger(were the top of the shackle bolts in) 1.5 inches to the front of your truck from the stock location. Most people say any were from 6in to 7.5in on the shackle length.
