I have a 88 k5 with a 10 bolt under it right now. I have a 14bff I want to put under it. On the website it says that the spring perches are 40.5 for one ton and 42.5 centers for everything else. So if I was to do the flip with the stock springs and the 14b which kit would I need? Or would it be easier to just weld on new perches on the 14b and get the k5 kit? Thanks for any information.

The shackle flip is dependant of the vehicle not the axle. You will need the appropriate axle though or you'll need to move spring perches and shock mounts. For an 88 blazer you need an axle with 42.5" center to center on the perches which is 1/2 or 3/4 ton axles.

Checkin in on this
i have a 4 inch from some one else but want to lower the rear its just a tad high is this a true 2 1/2 or how is it measured.i have a flip and 6 inch shackle.
(side question for a friend)
Also will a 2 1/2 match up to a front 4 inch lift or will it be a little low in the rear. currently only running a 4 inch front spring and nothing in the rear and it has a little rake not to bad though i think a 4 would make it rear high like mine.
Also this flip sits higer than the factory one then when bolted to the frame.

According to their website, the 2.5" flip and a 6" shackle is good for just about a 4" lift. :D

It takes twice the mesurment at the shckle or spring eye to equal 1" of lift
so a 2.5 flip and a
4" shackle = 3"
5" shackle = 3 1/2"
6" shackle = 4" ( per you're quote is this what you are saying)
7" shackle = 4 1/2

And a 4" shackle flip would be
4" shackle = 5"
5" shackle = 5 1/2
6" shackle = 6"
7" shackle = 6 1/2
i have not been able to find it broken down or compared this way anywhere.

Not to ask a dumb question but

What's the stock rear shackle length?

If they are 4" shackles stock

a 2.5" flip gets you 2.5" of lift with a stock shackle

Jump up to a 6" shackle with the 2.5" flip and you should net ~3.5" of lift.

You could then use a zero rate to add 1" more if you want to get to 4" or better.

sorry to ask a stupid question. what is zero rate? i have been looking on here and all i came up with on a search is the word rate.

cool thanks for the link. sounds like i can use them. seeing my tires hit the back of the fender while wheelin, but i dont feel like cutting up 2 brand new fenders.
