Since my last question was answered so quickly, here goes another. I'm adding 6" TC springs up front. What size (lift) springs do I need in the rear when combined with a 4" ORD shackle flip? I'd like to keep it as level as possible. As always, pics help:D Thanks Scott

BTW - This is for a 1990 K5

Three inch or maybe even four inch depending on how much stuff you carry and how you like it to sit. Butt high or dead level.

If you go three inch and feel that you need a little more you can add a zero rate.

what about a 56" with a 2 inch addaleaf, and a 0 rate?

I can add the factory 56's without moving my hangers forward? Will my shackle flip be mounted in the factory holes or will it be moved rearward? How much lift will this mod provide by itself?

it wont really provide much lift, Maybe 3/4"

You just have to move your shackle flip brackets back, I cant remember how far, its been about 2 years since i did it..

I was running 4 inch front springs and a d60 (adds 1 inch)

and 56"s with a 0 rate and a ord flip in the rear.

with the top off the back would sit a little higher then the front....

So maybe I could just add some 2" lift 56" springs out back (if there is such a thing) along with the shackle flip to get my rear up. Then a zero rate if I need that extra inch. How's that sound?

I put 3" springs with my 4" flip and 6" tuff country front springs and it seems to sit pretty level, I will try to find a pic so you can see.

I think the smallest lift you can get in a 56" is a 4" lift spring.

Or you could just put in a 2 inch add a leaf into some 30 dollar junkyard 56"s and be good to go :D

for some reason i think i remember seeing 2.5 " lift 56"s somewhere, But i cant really remember.

I have an 89 blazer with 6" superlift front springs and a D60 with a 4" shackle flip and 4" superlift rear springs with a 14ff and the rear sits just a taste higher than the front.

4" shackle Flip + 3" springs sits pretty level with 6" front springs on 3/4 ton axles. With a D60 up front, I'd probley use 4" springs with that 4" Shackle Flip.

mine is on a D60 and a 14ff in that pic, but I think with a top on it and some gear in the back it would sag some in the rear.

I just did mine and started with 6 inch TC's up front on a D60, an ORD shackle reversal out back with 2 inch TC's on a Corp14ff. Way low in the back. Put in a 1 inch zero rate, still low. Bought 4 inch TC's and swapped them in and kept the zero rate for a total of 9 inches out back. Now it sits slightly high in the rear but I will be hauling lots of stuff so I left it. If I pulled the zero rate I think it would sit level with 8 in the back and 6 up front.

I have TCI 6" springs up front with a 4" ORD flip and TCI 2.5" (or 3" what ever it is) out back and it sits pretty damn level and flexes pretty well in my opinion...

Desert Rat, you are the reason I bought the 3" springs in the rear instead of the 2" I had originally ordered :D

Glad I saved somebody a headache. Now I just need to sell the brand new 2 inch TC's that I have in my garage........

What trucks came 56ers. I think another junk hunt will be underway soon:D
