Any one of you 1st genners have the echobit flip on your rig? I need to see pics if possible. I'm trying to put a set on clubba68's 1970 blazer and cannot get them to fit, has something to do with the stock shackle hanger flaring out on the edges(outer most edge)keeping the shackle flip bracket from installing all the way on.

sorry i'm of no help here. I've been looking at the shackle flip think I'm going with the off road design one it comes with the brackets that replace the stock ones.good luck /forums/images/graemlins/hack.gif /forums/images/graemlins/weld.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grind.gifmy 69

I have everything to do the flip but haven't done it yet...
if I have time tonight I'll check out my hanger and see if I have the same flaring out issue

I'm going out to check it right now.... /forums/images/graemlins/doah.gif

Ok, I see the flange on the shackle that your talking about. The flip I have looks like it will fit inside of the flange area and not have to seat on the area where the shackle flares out, the shackle flip has an angle on both sides(the outside flat) that will fit just inside where the shackle spreads out.

This just goes to show that they were not all built exactly the same.

There are the flared out lips that i'm talking about. And with the kit that I'm trying to install, there is no way that the bracket will over go all the way on with mod'ing something.

I do have the same flared out hanger, but the flip I have seats between the flared out area. real bad design but bear with me...the red would be the shackle hanger and the blue is where the flip seats between the flared out ends. all I can think is your flip might be too wide and needs to be cut back to fit...

I'm thinking the same thing, cause its definitly too wide and hits the flared out part way before the holes will line up for a bolt.

I ran into this problem with the flips I build (based on echobits demensions). Some of the hangers are different, so you just need to trim it down.

Thanks, I'll have a look at it and dig out the ole /forums/images/graemlins/hack.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grind.gif /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif
