I am wanting to do a 4.5 shackle flip from DIY4x on my 85 blazer. What all do I need to buy. I am to un experienced to figure this out. Also with this lift what all will I need to modify.

Tall jack stands, drill bits. Grinder. big hammer 3 lb. Maybe a good sized punch. I like the greasable bolts. Maybe a zero rate to move back your axel. Possible a few degrees of shims to lift your drive shaft back up so its inline again.

Sounds really complicated. Ok I found ths flip have the tools...Where do I get the zero rate and shims. And is this something I can do myself.

Ya while posting this I got a messege saying this person had complete flip kit and everything I needed to do it. I was answering him back and posted answer to him as a thread instead. LOL... By time I figured it out people had posted to both so I deleted other one....Sorry...Im still new to this.

If you buy a shackle flip from DIY4X you will need new shackles. He also sells them. You will almost definitley need shims to rotate you pinion down after the flip. The best advice any one can give you is to cal Kert at DIY4X and tell him what your plans are. he will help you to get the right parts and understand why you need them.

Also,
Go look at your rear shackles and how they attach to the frame. Those have to come off. That's the hard part depending on tools.

Just be ready to curse a lot and break tools and throw things. But you can do it, I promise.

Truer words have not been spoken...A piece of advice that I was slow to accept - walk away if you become frustrated. Come back after a calming break.

So very true! A 3 inch cutoff wheel and an air hammer quickly became 2 of my best friends! :D You can also use a cutting disk on a 4 or 4.5 inch grinder. Good luck! If I can do it, hell, almost anyone can! :haha:

Ya I plan to take it all slow and be patient. I emailed Kurt and he answered now just waiting to get final answers then it will be time to drop some cash and buy it all.
