Shackle Pic Request, Please..

I can get you some. I have 5" usdr with a skye flip. All the pics are at home I will try to post up tonight.

Here are mine. There are a bunch in the build link in my sig of them. I am at work right now so i cant access my photobucket. These are the 7" BTW.

I'll take a look at your build thread too. I am hoping for some close up pics of the shackle and flip if there is one. Thanks guys.

Edit: MT, I can see the pic of your rig in the post above but my works firewall or computer system won't let me see any pics in your build thread. happens on a lot of pics posted here at CK5 for me. Focking work firewall won't let me view photobucket, you tube, etc pics or vids.

A few questions 4 you guys, if i buy the 4 in shackle fllip and use a zero rate what shackles do i need to achieve an 8inch lift ? The flip and the zero rate gives me 5inches...what length shackles to make up the other 3...?...or am i wrong with thinking that way..?

well for every 1 inch longer the shackle is the lift totals to 1/2 inches... so in order to get 3 more inches... you'll need a shackle 6" longer than a stocker

I would use a lift spring to make up the rest instead of a zero-rate and 10" shackle (6" over stock). You'd be trying to correct your pinion angle a LOT if you try to get 7" of lift with shackle and flip.:doah: How about a 4" shackle flip, 6"shackle, zero-rate and 2" lift springs. That should also net 8" of total lift.

Hoby, what the hell are you trying to do NOW?:D

Thanks to Chicken and his latest fab projects I am not thinking clearly and have several stupid ideas bouncing around in my skull. I even got a response back from Kert at DIY on a pic I need him to take for me to see if my idea is plausible (sp). I'll let you know what I'm thinking soon to see if you think I a 'tard. (not that you already don't):doah:

Fair enough, I love seeing new ideas. The crazier the better, cuz sometimes they work better than expected.:D

Whatever you do make sure your shackles have good strong cross bracing. They take alot of abuse either directly or indirectly from things. I have seen several pairs of heavy duty shackles with good crossbracing that are still tweeked from heavy use.

Yeah. This is another issue with my idea to have the proper rear shackles being enough. I really like the DIY UDSR and the cross-tied ones but they would have to be modified a bit to work which is why I am waiting for Kert to email me some pics to see If I am going to have clearance issues or not. ORD would probably work but are spendy. Just waiting for Kert and pics. He said it may be awhile so he has both parts in stock at the same time to mock up my request and get the pics to me.
