Hey all. I'm finally getting rid of the damn 5" blocks out back in my Sub and putting in the springs I bought, but the shackles are being a PITA. They won't move at all. They're frozen solid from rust and I can't get the stupid bolts out of the bottom eye. I've got replacement shackles but I need ideas on how the hell I'm going to get the old ones out without a torch. I'm thinking about using my 4" grinder with a cutting wheel and slicing down both sides of the bottom bolt on the inside of the hanger. Will that work or is there any other way to tackle the shackle?...:D

Can you get an impact on them to at least spin them? Some PB Blaster and rotation does wonders. Otherwise cutting them is a good start. If they are truly frozen, you'll need to pound them out after cutting. Heat is also your friend, even if it's not a full on torch, a simple map gas soldering torch can help.

Unfortunately I'm only working with basic hand tools so I don't have access to any air tools to help me out. I tried a sawzall to cut the bottom bolt in two, but I bent 3 blades and pist myself off in the process.
