Does anyone know the dimensions for the front and rear shackles of a '81 blazer, and how wide the springs are at the end?

Thanks

I believe the front shackles are 4" eye to eye and the rear is the same. Not sure on the rear though.

Spring width is 3" factory in the front. Not including bushings. Rear is 2.5" I believe.

Somebody will correct me if I'm wrong.

I want to make some new "beefy" shackles to put in when I do my axle swap. I would go take my own measurements but my blazer is 500 miles away.

Thanks

if no one else replies, Im going out to work on my blazer soon, so I can get the measurements in a hour if you need them.

what he said. Most if not all aftermarket front springs are 2.5" wide though. THey use bushing to make up the rest. The rear is a tapered shackle so without the exact measurements you will be hardpressed to make a new one.

All I got was the front shackle, the rear shackle is overload for my mind /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

Front:
5.5" long
1 5/8" wide
4" center to center of hole
spring is 2 3/4" wide (plus whatever the width of the bushings are) and at the end the spring tapers to 2 3/8" at the end.
