alright..i am a tightass, hell most of us are, anyhow i bought a 4 inch lift to start out with, that was almost about 8 months ago, no i have decided i wanted to go bigger so i got a body lift from a friend for cheap. and i dont think ill clear 38's good enough with a 4 inch susp. and 3 inch body. so would it be safe to make some 2 inch shackles? i know i can do it because i weld all the time but is 2 inches too much? does anybody have any advice? i appreciate the replys...
thanks k5-jesse /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif

Well i welded some shackles together for my luv that are about 3"ers. I dont think that 2" ones would be pushing it too hard, just make shure you bolt em together realy tight so your truck dosnt lean.

2in shackles will only give 1in lift /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/truck.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Are you talking about front or rear shackles? I made these for my rear to use with a shackle flip, they are 2" longer than stock

The bushing assembly is 1.5" .120 wall tubing with Jeep Wrangler spring bushings and the rest was just scrap metal. Cost me bout $40 total.

*BTW 4" Susp. + 3" Body is more than enough to clear 38's. Don't be shy with the SAWSALL!

Thats why I was asking.
Plus Hill OffRoad makes a 2" longer shackle. And yes that does only give you 1" lift.
