I recently purchased a 79 Grand Prix T'top from my GF's mom. She had it for years and parked it due to a bad motor. I have been trying to get it from her for a while. Finally did. I'll be rebuilding it to Mild hotrod status. Nothing major or extreme, just Motor, wheels/tires, paint and possibly interior. I Wish I had pics but Didnt have the camera yet:dunno: I'm gonna see if I can get a few tomorrow. Depends on her schedule. Still in her garage

I wasnt sure I wanted it cause I just dont like the grille/headlight area of this year. but I can deal with it. I cant tell from the corner its shoved in if its a base/LJ/or SJ model. I know it has the fancy bucket seats so I believe its not a base model. heres a few pics or the key fetures I've mentioned and the whole car pic has the same paint & wheels.

This is one of the baddest GP's I've ever seen. Someday:rolleyes: I actually think the year I got is one of the ugliest:haha: But I couldnt pass on the price and my GF really wants to drive it. It was supposed to be her first car, and the first car she ever fell in love with. I'm giving her SOME say in design options, but its still my project:waytogo:

:waytogo:Them are sweet adam. Is it fast. My cousin had a blue one like it and it was fast as h3ll. Could have been my lack of fast vehicle experience at the time. But it was fun:D

My ( newer than Adams) is pretty quick not super fast but I hope to drop the supercharger pully and get headers sometime.
I think that could be a pretty cool ride Rick, certainly not my first choice but with the right stance it would look cool

Thing about those cars is you have to make it so the funky looks are the focal point, not crazy scoops and glass work like in the 70s but don't try to build some 60s style muscle car or a 50s style cruiser with it

yeah the plan currently is to Do a heavy flaked metalic silver on all of it and come back with a smoked clear on the sides to redo the factory paint design. plus a candt red pin stripe to seperatethe colors. Same design, but newer prettier paint and better flake. Then a set of wides in the back (10-12" to fill the fenders), probly 8" wide fronts, and a set of wheels that still have to be determined. I dont want to keep the red interior so parts will be changed to get a red/black one.

It'll be a slow build so bear with me:rolleyes: I cant even decide if I wanna find a pontiac motor or swap to chevy:dunno:

Heeeeelll no lol.

It's a 3.1 gutless sob lol.

It's my salt sponge for the winter to save the blazer.

Idk why it looks so good in that pic, but it's an ugly rusty thing lol.

I just like all the buttons and how it looks so back to the futurey :D

:haha:

salt sponge is a good description, thats what my rav is for. My 99 was a fast one, and fun to drive. we'd still have it or one newer n nicer, but we couldnt find one that didnt have a MAJOR oil leak coming out of the 3.8:doah: I bet we looked at 20 of them. all leaked from rear main.

I found a supposedly rebuilt pontiac 350 for around 6-800. dude says he has 1100 in it and just wants the right offer:dunno: I've never been into buying a motor I cant here first. Even if its pretty as h3ll and sitting on the stand it was built on. Ya just cant know whats up unless you can here it...... Is that being paranoid?
