I sold a steering column on eBay and now the buyer says it won't work because it has the square fitting at the end of the column for the telescoping shaft to the rag joint.
Rather than send the column back to me, I told him I would find the correct shaft and send it to him, free of charge.

What I need is the telescoping shaft, square end, that mounts at the rag joint and the column.

If you have a spare or can get one, let me know a price and I will give you the buyers name and address info so you can ship it directly to him. I told the buyer I would find him the correct one, pay for it and have the other party ship it. Along with that, I told him I would have the shipper supply me a tracking number, too.

I have an 86 and 87 pickups. Do you know if these would have what you need? I will be able to ckeck them tomorrow.

Don't know. I guess the only way to find out without removing them is to check and see the shape of where the shaft mates to the column.

If its square and uses a bolt to hold it, thats the one I need.

I almost 100% sure that is what they have. I know it has a bolt through it. PM me you email and I'll send you a pic tomorrow.

I'll check if I have one. You can have it for free... just pay the shipping via USPS.

Email is [email protected].

Whats your take on the round and square shafts? I've always thought the square shafts are on the newer trucks, like '77 or so, on up, and the round splined shafts are on the older trucks.

Anyone else can confirm this?

That sounds more like it. Not sure what I did with the shaft I had when I tore the truck apart. Little things like that that makes you realize "dohh". :doah: :doah: :doah:

Just make sure its the square type fitting. :wink1:

Ya, I'll check it out. I'm fairly sure I have one, but I have so many parts that sometimes I forget what I actually have (or don't have) :haha: :haha: :haha:

The 86 and 87 are the only ones I owned. They are the same, but I wouldn't know about the older ones.

I've got one of those as well. Free, you pay shipping. What's your buyers city State & zip? We can check to see the cheapest shipping cost:D

Mine doesn't have the purdy paint though;)

I don't care about the paint. :haha:

Here's the eBayers info:

Let me know the shipping fee and I will pay you for it.

I'm not sure if the buyer would want his name and addy on the net... I wouldn't.

I'll be going to the shop in a little bit, I'll look if I have one... or you can get the one from BKinzey. Shipping would be a lot cheaper for him since I live a couple thousand miles away.
