Shaking while driving

Thanks for the thanks

The new parts store job will definitely help with the bills. I worked for O'Reilly's for a short time building race cars and motors. I worked the counter during the morning and did the rest in the afternoon. Was a fun job but turned soar when we got a new manager and he expected us to deliver parts in our own vehicles and on our own dime cause his wife needed to drive the company vehicle everyday until we finished building her mustang. I was building an 81 Blazer at the time and had just finished dropping in a motor from a 78 Corvette and luckly just needed to do the paint and body work when he took over. There were 8 of us working there and 6 of us left. I moved from that town and was on vacation a few years later and ran through there and saw that the store was closed. Bet it was due to that idiot. Good luck with the build and just ask if you need anything. I get really sick somedays and may not get back to you right away so if I don't answer don't think I forgot about you. Hope all is well with you and yours!

I fixed it! It turned out that since the engine was misfiring due to burned valve it was shaking the whole drivetrain under load, part of the problem was that the PO never put the bracket from trans case to block back on so all of it was amplifying through the drive shaft! She has a new (to me) motor now with only 50,000 miles on it and she runs like a brand new rig!

Interesting how things work out to be what we dont think they are. You were sure it was a driveline slop problem. I have had stuff like that happen to me.

yeah, it really surprised me lol, the driveshaft would move but it turned out the trans case was moving too because of that bracket missing

I'm going to take my solution back, shaking ended up being a bad yoke on the driveshaft at the axle, it was more discovered after i took it on the highway more, you could feel it again, my buddy grabbed the driveshaft and found the problem right away, we ended up taking it to catco and having a new yoke put on, works like a champ now
