I cut mine down and then took and welded some plate from left to right. When its done it should have a completly smooth bottom.

did you just get under there with a die grinder?
i want to do that for mine how much aprox did you remove?

well id did mine with the axle out of the truck. i have it out to put in 63 inch springs and figured I might as well do it when i had it out. i started it with a sawzall and took off a little more than quarter inch and cut at and angle. then busted out the grinder and went to town probably took off about an inch on the front side and about half inch on the front. so mountain explorer you can see you dont need many tools to do it. took me a couple hours tops

well I did a little more grinding to get rid of the ears and eve out the back and match it up with the punkin so should be all good to go in on saturday with the new 63 inch springs
