I just saw this thread... 7 months late...
First of all, I wanted to apologize to everyone about MIA for SO long. Unfortunately, the K5 has been at the bottom of list with all the other vehicles. Between the K30, Typhoon, Eclipse and now the Evo, there hasn't been much progress going with the K5 and unfortunately it has just been sitting in the garage and collecting tons of dust. I sold the K30 about 4 months ago and now the Typhoon so maybe now I can focus on the K5. It mostly comes down to time and money. I have been slowly buying parts for it I just haven't been in a huge hurry and would rather not put the stuff on a credit card.
As for the K5 history it goes like this-
-Blew up the 496 engine (5th engine) and I needed a long break from the Blazer
-Right after that, I lost my job and was totally broke- forced to sell all engine and transmission parts including a new 540 engine
-2 years go by and I was able to save up for another 496 but didn't like the way it was built and changed my mind. Went with a stout 400/AFR combo
-Purchased a built 400sbc with forged components last spring
-Purchased AFR Eliminator heads last summer
-Rebuilt the manual 4L80 for the 3rd friggen time!
-Purchased Accel DFI gen 7 last year
-Currently looking for a 1000cfm throttle body, large injectors, headers and manifold with bungs
Yes the Blazer is still intact and has all of its sheet metal.
As for the F&F comment, yeah its true. I've been messing around and racing my rice which includes an STi, multiple turbo DSM's and now an Evo. Its currently the fastest Evolution in Colorado and runs 10.2 @ 139 which isn't too bad considering we're a mile high in altitude. The huge wing has been removed and you won't find any gay rice boy mods done to it. The little fukker hauls ass and thats all I care about. I'll put it up against any car on the street. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Camaro's, Corvette's, Nova's, Chevelle's but there's nothing like having AWD and 640whp push you back in the seat plus I'm able to drive it all winter in the snow. The AWD and 4 doors just make it more practical. If I could afford it, I'd have a newer Z06 in the garage but the Evo will have to do for now...

I'd really like to get the K5 going this winter. Now that racing season is over, it should allow more time to get it going.
Sorry again for being gone so long.
