finally pulled my rig out of the garage today. took a little doing due to a flat tire, and 2 stuck front calipers. pulled the calipers and changed the tire, and drug it out. sometime in the next couple days, i'll put the '95 Grand Am in to try and get it running, followed by the '96 Grand Am. fixing them both in attempt to make money for more toys. anywho, here's a pic, sorry it isnt very clear, digital camera sucks, but you get the point.

TJ, my dad was shooting some black one day, and had some leftover in the gun, so he shot part of the bedside. the Raiders stickers are still there, the one on the drivers side is just badly discolored.

no engine yet, i've got a 305 in the garage that i'm debating on throwing in temporarily until i get the Vortec built.

tight fit is and understatement. i pulled it out of the garage, the handle on the garage door scraped about 2" across the roof, then the overhang over the door rubbed the full length of the roof.

shooting for next spring to get it going. there's a good chance that'll happen, providing the Grand Ams go smoothly.

i was told the '95 needed a timing chain, but i'm not so sure of that. the guy who told me that also told me that it had 150+/- psi on every cylinder in a dry compression test, which isnt consistent with a bad timing chain. i'm thinking its ignition related since i sold a LOT of 93-95 Grand Am ignition parts when i worked at the dealership. i have a GM tech friend, and an ASE tech friend who are both thinking the same thing. i'll get it inside in the next couple days and check it out. hopefully its something cheap and easy so i can make some quick cash.

the '96 was my sister's car, and she stacked some rod bearings in it. crank kit and resize the rods and it should be good to go.
