Has any one had any problems with wear or breakage of the shift cable if they remove the hold down near the brake booster?

The steel hold down is going to be right in the way of the shock tower.

That's the speedometer cable. The shifter is connected to the transmission with solid linkage, toward the center of the truck...just to the right (passenger) side of the column. The speedo cable is fine to be left loose, if you could move the clamp above or below that would be better though.

I doubt it would hurt anything, maybe move it if you can with a bolt and nut. I'm real close to it with my towers also. I will be going shock hoops next, I want my shocks more vertical and more up travel.
