I’m I dumb and missing something obvious? Start off I’m not getting to select lower gears then drive. So I can select p,r,n,d but nothing lower. I loosened the linkage adjustment to the rod, pulled up the column shifter to park position (top as far as it would go) tighten bolt down on linkage but still only go in drive at the very bottom shifting down the column. What am I missing to select 1,2? Bought it this way… plenty of room on the rod either way adjusting.

Is there a nylon washer on the end of the pivot, in the bracket which is bolted to the frame? It could be worn out or missing which would possibly keep you from getting full travel of the linkage.

You mentioned a body lift. How much? The stock shift linkage maybe too short and need lengthened to get enough travel to get all gears on the column shift. Just my experience with a 3" body lift. Kit came with a small piece of round stock to weld to the end of the linkage. You could also disconnect the linkage at the transmission and manually shift to the lowest gear and see if the linkage reaches, that will tell you if it is too short.

This. Mine's got a welded rod on the end from when it had a body lift.
