I have an issue with the trans jumping into neutral when you hit a hard bump.
I have tried to adjust it to not do it but no luck. Is there a trick to it.

Would it help to do it like a b&m shifter and put it in low then tighten the retainer bolt down? Kind of need to stop this when it jumps into neutral it usually hits 4000 rpms before i catch it.:dunno:

Are you sure the tranny mount and engine mounts, crossmember are not loose or broken?..also if the cab moves around some due to rusted cab supports or bad bushings it might make it pop out of gear..

If you have the stock shifter ,I adjusted mine by putting the tranny in "drive" after disconnecting the linkage and making sure it was 2 clicks up from 1st gear, then put the shifter in the drive position and tighten the pinch bolt up..

Aftermarket floor shifters,I dont have much experience with--only one I had was a cheap Spark-O-Matic one on a TH400,that kinda sucked,it relied soley on the detents in the tranny to hold it in gear--and no reverse lockout,it you shifted it to drive too fast you had a good chance of it going right into reverse or park!..:eek1:

buddy had a bad set of motor mounts and when he went off road and started to flex pop went tranny to neutral every time. we installed some low miles used oem and better .

that will do it :thumb:

time for new energy suspension body bushing kit . and maybe a 1" body lift to make working on stuff a little bit more easy . :thumb:

I think it already has a lift I'll take a picture later and show you the little black pucks that are under the body

I'd also check your rag joint on the steering colum,if you've been flexing it off road, with bad cab mount bushings--it can stress it and tear it apart..

One day I hauled a 4000 lb detroit diesel out of an old Alis-Chalmers bulldozer we scrapped at the junkyard, when the ramp truck was down with a dead clutch,to a scrapyard 3 miles up the road...scary ride!..top speed 30 mph,and when I got to the scrap place and over the scales, they used a crane with a huge electromanget to lift off the engine..

When they turned on the magnet,I felt my truck lift up almost off the ground, and heard the floor creak where the cab mounts are--they had been patched over with thin sheet metal..

I drove the truck back to the junkyard, and got there OK,but on my way home I decided to make a U turn to go visit a friend, and the steering wheel suddenly had zero resistance and spun around ,it disconnected from the rag joint!..the cab must have lifted up enough to finish off the aged rubber coupling disc..:eek1:..had I gone straight home,I would have been going 50+ mph,and it likely would have failed then, and that would not have been good..:doah:

There's supposed to be safety stop bolts in the rag coupler, so if it fails, it can only have so many degrees of slop before it catches and turns the other half.

25+ years of new england road salt dissolved the coupler disc's metal part pretty much, didn't take too much to pull it completely apart...:doah:..the rubber was all dried out and petrified too...

Now for the fun question, my blazer has a77 chassi and an 82 body
Which kit should i get the one for the 77 or the 82?
I cant tell what they did.

i found from looking at the bushings and the pics of the bushings on summit that the dude that put it together he used 77 bushings
The black thing in this pic is a body lift. if i measure it i should know what size it is?

should get bushing for frame year . . . unlees some one modified the frame pockets .

and yes measure the hard puck for body lift hight . and make sure there is 1 in each position .
