Who is running a Shackel flip from EchoBit?
What degree shims do you need to get the angles right?
I am thinking of getting a set of those shcakel flips, and getting those tappered bolt on leaves from A-tron. Can you recomend a good angle for the shackel flip and stock springs? Thanks!

You'd be best to measure it. Sears sells a decent angle finder/protractor thing for $12.
With the tcase dropped already, I'd guess 4 degree - key word is guess.

There are too many variables. Driveline length, how much the T-case is dropped, perch location on the axle itself etc etc. Shim size and driveline angle is one of those things that needs to be figured out on a truck by truck basis, measured and then corrected.

You'll need to do the flip and see how much you need...then get the angled leaf block from A-tron when you know how much you need on your truck.

Yeah, I asked my mechanic friend ASE master certified /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
And he said, the best he can guess is 4 to 5 degrees for a 5-6 inch lift. How many degrees can it be off before it starts vibrating and showing bad driving characterisitics??

THIS MAY BE DUMB BUT WHAT IS THE ANGLE SUPPOSED TO BE? THANKS

With a CV the pinion should be pointed about 2-3 degrees down from being straight in line with the d-shaft, with u-joints on both ends of the shaft the pinion and output shaft on the t-case should be parallel.

If you get the A-tron shims, make sure to figure out first if you need the axle back 1" or 1.5" since they will need to know which side to mill.
