New set of brake pads, come with stick-on shims. Should I use them, only if I need them, or ...? Rotors are brand-new, so lots of meat, i.e. thick.

They're not shims, they're vibration/squeal eliminators. :) They go on the pad that does NOT sit against the piston. Use 'em!

its personal preference, personally i don't use them, the sticky eventually dries up and they stop sticking, then rattle around and make noise..

i usually just keep them off, or if i have any around, i put the liquid sticky stuff on(kinda like silicone)

Err. Swore their little baggie said "shims", and there are four, one for for each pad.

But I'll take the advice!

yea i used them the last time i changed my brakes but at first i didnt and noticed a slight vibration so the next day i threw them in and the vibration was gone.
