Wasilla AK,
I have one set of 38" boggers on wheels and one set of 44" boggers on wheels that I need to ship to alaska from New Mexico for those that have shipped tires and wheels : who did you use, how did you package them, and about how much???

Gonna have to put them on a pallet and find a trucking/shipping company. I used Freightquote.com in the past. Not gonna be cheap going that far...

Wow that's a long way!! Four you not get them closer or is this someone you know in NM?

I had purchased a set of 36's and they were shipped FED-EX. Each tire had it's own shipping label.

Mark

With fed-ex how much was it?? obviously mine are way heavier

No I moved to alaska but I still have my house there in NM and I need both sets up here for my rigs up here

I have a bad feeling it's going to be alot more then you are hoping, I looked at a set of 5 40" boggers on evilbay and the shipping from florida to maryland was over 650.00 :yikes: I had a K5 shipped from TX to MD and it was only a few bucks more. (and that was during this summer fuel prices)

I had 4 38.5 boggers with wheels shipped from Memphis, TN to Kansas City, KS and it cost about $260. The guy I bought them from put them on a pallet and I found a shipping company through a broker and got them shipped from a business to a business. Unless the tires are in "like new" condition I wouldn't even bother trying to ship them that far.

both sets are new the 44 boggers have only been put on my truck never even moved . the 38.5 boggers have only 100 miles and one pass in the mud

may just leave the 38" boggers on the truck there on and just ship the 44"

i would see about a frieght company. if they can ship trucks for "cheap" i would think they could do tires also

Yeah, My dodge only cost 2000.00 to ship it from New Mexico

all the quotes from shipping companys have been in excess of 2500.00 for one set of tires

So far UPS has been the cheapest

shipping anything from the lower 48 to alaska isnt cheap.jus tbuying stuff up there is 20 percent markup for freight charge.i used to live in fairbanks when i was a kid,so i know the delima of having stuff shipped from around the country.i was quoted 60 dollars a tire for 35's when i was trying to ship tires.the easiest way would be to find a ltl shipping firm that can ship per pallet.strap them to a pallet and have them come pickup.its much easier and cheaper if you can gert them shipped from a business to a business.when i worked for central ltl transport we charged extra for home delivery.more on top of that for a liftgate delivery.good luck man.1000 bucks seems like in the ballpark for something like that.almost cheaper to sell those tires down in nm and rebuy em in ak.most tire shops eat the shipping because they buy in bulk.just a thought.:wink1:

I went with LTL and Buisness to buisness and its still that much 44" boggers are 670. a piece up here and then I 'd have to get new beadlock wheels and have them shipped so I guess its still cheaper to ship mine then buy new . and Mine are new
