I replaced the rear shocks on Big Ugly today. Passenger side nuts came right off and the Rough Country Nitro 9000 went right on...which was when I discovered that their rubber bushings are wider than the mounting bolts but the sleeves they provide weren't wide enough to fit around the bolts.
I ended up just putting it on loose and it seems to be okay. Little bit more "jiggle" to it but nothing bad after the nuts were cinched down tight. Been running the shocks on the rear of my Tracker and the wife's XL7 like this for over a few years now and no issue. Anyone ever heard of this actually causing a problem?
Second issue was the drivers' side lower mounting bolt wouldn't come loose for anything. Actually was bending my breaker bar when I started pushing up on it with my 3 ton floor jack to try and at least make the whole bolt spin in the shock. Ended up having to
my way through it. Anybody know what size thread bolt that is?
Nothing is every easy or simple.
