shock boot material

Need your opinion regading shock boot material, Rubber, Polyuethane, or PolyVinyl ? Which ones work best ?
 
I'll second that...shock boots are no good.

I took mine off, now my shafts are pitted real bad... :frown1:
 
if u had left them on they'd be pitted at least as bad, but you wouldn't know it. Its not like shock boots keep moisture out or anything... they aren't air or water tight.

I think it's a lose - lose situation. I had a K5 that we scapped and it had shock boots that held the mud in so the top of the shocks actually rusted through and leaked oil.
 
Sounds like more for decoration than function....if they trap all that stuff..I wont use them...THANKS :D
