If i have a total of 5" of lift(currently, possibly more later... or sooner) and i have the choice of getting shocks for 6" of lift or getting shocks for 8" of lift should i go ahead and get the ones for 8"? will it make any difference in my current travel numbers? thanks for any info.

Chances are your shocks are not limiting your suspension travel. So I dont think 8 in lift shocks will allow your 5 in lift suspension to travel more.

Depends on the shock. My shocks are what limit my up an down travel.

You really need to just check your suspension under full droop and compression strokes and buy a shock that has just a litttle more extended and a little less compressed measurement, than you measure on your truck.

What he said. The difference between what some lift makers shocks' extended and compressed lengths and also what most of our trucks can do is amazing.

Yes, I've been trying to find a chart with travel numbers for the rough country 9000 series but i cant remember where i first saw it and no luck on google so far, if anyone knows where one of these can be found id really appreciate it!

Call and ask them. I've never found a chart of theirs and had to call and ask every time.
