Shock mount

The drivers side rear shock mount cracked and bent on my K5. I have it off, and wondering which is best, fab up a new mount, or weld the old one? The K5 is mainly for DD, with some light offroad.

mine did that as well, shocks were to short and ripped the mount.
I welded it back and replaced the shock with the proper length. been good ever since

I recall the RR upper mount bolts through the frame. Best to weld in a reinforcement plate on the frame and make sure you are not topping or bottoming out the shocks. The lower mounts may be rotated a bit to adjust if your shocks are spot on.
