So, I'm looking at getting a cheap 3" lift, but just got a set of rancho's for stock height about 3 months ago :doah:

This may be a stupid question, but can I change the mounting points to have them work with a 3" lift? I'd rather weld up some new brackets for free out of stuff in my garage, than spend another 150 bucks on shocks...

You can change the mounting points to accommodate any lift with any shock.

The more you inboard the shocks, the less travel you need and the less effective the shocks will be (and vice versa).

Drive the truck on something that completely flexes the suspension and figure out how much uptravel/downtravel you need and make your shock/mount choices accordingly.
