So new question springs are on they way but here’s my issue the front shocks aren’t gonna be an issue but the rears are they are 14” shocks . 4” lift but as I’m sure some of you know clearance in the rear from frame to body is zero . What are some mounting suggestions? What angle should I mount the rear straight up and down etc .. ?

Not sure what your asking. are your shocks to long to go in the factory location ?
if so i would get the correct shocks before trying different mounting points,
The factory location is set up pretty darn good

It’s not that they are the wrong shock the springs I’m installing have 14 in travel but because I’m only lifted 4” getting them to fit in the rear is tricky due to clearence from frame to floor I could run a smaller shock but then I wouldn’t be utilizing my springs.

Simplest answer. Get the springs and cycle them. You will need to tilt them back or forward. Or you inward.

Also look at making the lower mounting as low as possible

So I just did a search on here saw a short thread on inboard mounting what are your thoughts ?

Last possible option. The way everything is set on our trucks you have to get tricky to mount them at a reduced angle. Any angle off 0° reduces the shocks effectiveness. If your gonna get tricky it might as well be to mount them at the least possible angle.

Like I said cycle the suspension. You may find you do not need 14" travel shocks.

I have seen the inboarded shocks work very well but they have typically used custom lower mounts that put the lower shock placement below the axle.

I have done a similar setup where the mount was just at the bottom of the axle. Basically under the springs. The top mount was just inside the frame.

This is the factory Dodge mounting.

But if you do it like that you won't need even close to a 14" travel shock. Likely a 10" or even 8" will work.

@Deuling @mrk5 pics of your shock mounts please. There are plenty of others too but those 2 I though of off hand. mrK5s might have even been on his blazer

Saw this on pirate 4x4 looks like if I can stay with in 30 degrees I’m good I like the way it looks too . I feel like it’s this or I go up through the floor . I will know better once I get my springs on and cycle it though for sure like you said I may not even need a 14” travel shock.

Here's mine. Meh. They are there. No real exciting or ground breaking things. You can see how little the shock travels though.

Mine are inboarded however I kept them as upright as possible. I use a modified DIY4X upper crossmember and a DIY4X lower mounts. Ideally I would have mounted them behind the axle however I didn't have room with the fuel tank (K5 tank in a K10).

I had the rear shocks on the K5 going up thru the floor behind the rear seat. They were vertical.

The crew cab I have them angled forward. I'm working on a vertical setup but I won't need to cut the floor of the bed. I have more lift than the K5 so it's doable. In theory.

I called and talked to Stephen @ ORD he said doing an inboard is a bad idea so I’m going to come up with some kind of cross member to mount them to in the forward position.

Just re-order some 12" travel shocks.
I've been stroking mine for 4 years :D
I'm on a 5" lift, so I'm sure you'll be fine. LOL and it's no mall crawler
