I have a stock-height 84 k10 that rides like a dump truck off road. Any suggestions towards brands/series of shocks? (never mind the factory springs, I need a single-season solution that helps as much as possible). Thanks!

Factory springs shoud ride pretty good actually...

IMO bilstein 5100s are the lowest priced shock id look at.

I have the stock 2 leaf front springs on my '82 K2500,it rides like it has no springs, they are sagged enough so they almost touch the rubber bump stops sitting still...bumpy roads are a pain, litteraly,to drive it on..
It also has junk shocks, probably empty of fluid ,might even be original..

Seeing the front end has maybe 1" of "travel",I am not in a big hurry to replace them...just about every GM truck I have owned showed only slight improvement with new shocks up front..the ones I put heavy duty "Monroe Magnums" on with 1-3/8" pistons did help slightly but also make the ride very firm and stiff...

Thanks for the info. Those were the exact ones I was looking at anyway.

I agree with Adam , 5100's are damn good shocks I run the 5150's on two of my rigs .

Which aurora are you located? If it is the colorado one hit me up. I have some really low mile front ones you can have for free. Might have a 1000 miles on them. Maybe.
