Shock relocation

im at a lost i made another crossmember to hang my shocks from and i got one idea for them to bolt them to the axle. I weld a 3/8 steal plate to the axle tube and then i weld a stud to the plate. Do u think this will work or do you all have another idea. Pics would be helpfull too. Sry for the crude drawing but thats what I had in mind

Check out DIY4X.com. Kert make something almost like that except it contours to the tube. He also makes the x-member to put your shocks like / \ this.

I ordered the shock kit from DIY4X.com from the vendor section I think this is the best way to go for rear shocks. I have tryed alot of thing to remount my shocks and just keep ripping them off the K5. For a good set of shocks go over to PBB in there vendor section they have some killer 15inch long travel shocks for about 200.00
