Ok....searched the other threads and still have a question. I have an 86 K30, 6" lift (avatar pic), I wanted a set of bilsteins but, ordered a set of skyjacker hydros because of the cost.

My question is are the 5100 series Bilsteins noticeably worth the money on a street driven truck?

I think just as important is what particular springs your running...I really like my Bil's but I have Superlift 6" up front, which are a little soft compared to others, and my rear packs have 1/2 of the leaves removed. Do you still have a 1 ton spring pack in back?

Long story… but last week I was about to order new custom springs. I have new 6in Skyjacker soft ride with new Skyjacker nitro shocks. This combo rode like a solid brick in the front. Well before I ordered new springs I decided to get the 5100 series Bilsteins and remove the sway bar. Was planning on doing this anyway. Glad I did before I ordered the new springs. Ride is much good enough and manageable now. So yes… Bilsteins are much better to me… especially when compared to the lift maker shocks (skyjacker, rancho, TC, procomp, etc.)

I think you guys have made up my mind. I am going to wait a bit and get the shocks I want...Bilsteins!

O have 4" Tough Country EZ-ride springs up front and I took off my sway-bar. Run Bilstien 5100's and the truck rides super nice...Not much roll around corners at all.

Not much roll around corners at all.

I have the 4" Skyjacker spring's, 2" blocks out back, and custom front shackles.
6" of lift, in total.

With no sway bar, on the 5100's, it seems to have the perfect amount of body roll.

I like the 4" Skyjacker springs, tho.
They flex pretty good.
