Ok so ive got a set of axles with 4" tuff country springs on them already, going to be throwing them under the blazer next week, but I need shocks, anyone have a part number or something for shocks that will work with 4" of lift?

91 k5, thanks.

what kind of shocks do you want? Are they going in the stock location or did you move em? When I put the 14 bolt in I put the shock mounts pretty close to stock and ended up using some ranchos for a 4 inch lift. Btw dont get ranchos:D oh ya I have a 4 inch lift

Should all be in the stock locations, just changing in some 3/4 ton stuff. I cant seem to find anyone selling just shocks that will fit a lift, am I out of my mind?

X2 on post #5 above. Do not get the rancho shocks for the 4in. lift as those tough country ez ride springs have 5.57 inches of free arch which is farther than the rancho shocks at full extention. My blazer's front wheels would leave the ground over railroad tracks and bridges when i had the rancho shocks on-board!! :eek1:
Problem fixed after installing the SX6000's.

do your research. i went to an off road shop and bought shocks for a 4" lift only to realize that shocks for 4" lifts don't have enough travel for actual off road trucks. thus, if you actually wheel, you need to figure out how much travel you will have with your suspension, then figure out what shocks will give you that much travel and then figure out what modifications are necessary to fit a shock that will perform the way you need it to do.

my shocks are the biggest hindrance of my set up because i bought shocks for a 4" lift. my plans are to go for some 15" travel bilstein 5150's. about $100/ea and require some fabrication for fitment.

Yea, I dont do any serious off roading yet, just trying to put the truck together as I go, with work I dont have much time to get away to go off road, not much to do on Staten island, lol. But in a year or so ill have more time.

You can get them at Autozone. As they go through the menu a choice will pop up for "with lift" or "without lift". These work pretty good with 4" and maybe even 6" of lift. The differences between most of the "lift kit" brand shocks and these Gabriels are:
1) valving
2) Stickers

The Gabriel brand is about the softest. Sometimes you can even score deals like buy 3 get 1 free.
