I bought a lift kit this weekend and the shocks are smoked went to the auto parts store they want 65 a piece and I am looking for something cheaper than that. The cheapest I could find was the Rough Country brand for about 35 a piece. Does anyone know were else I could find shocks cheaper?

i just had the same situation. i got some gabriels at autozone for $27 apiece. not a steal, but not terrible either.

ebay has some scratch and dent stores with great deals, but i didn't find what i needed.

how much lift, btw? mine was 4" and that's the biggest most "normal" places could accomodate.

I looked on the superlift scratch and dent site and I can get the front two for 7 dollars a piece 10 dollars a peice shipping

do these look like the right ones for the front of a 75 k5 with a 4" lift?

Check out your local NAPA parts place. Figure out what extended and collapsed lengths you need and which eyelets you want and then have them open up their big-book-o-shocks and start looking at the specs. NAPA's truck shocks are basically the same thing as the generic Rancho/Monroe offroad shocks. Only for $25 or so each.

going to your local parts store and looking in the catalogs is the best thing to do to find something cheap and local...plus they can be more easily warrentied.

i hope you didnt reuse the ubolts

x2... I have a brand new set coming that I bought off of Mosesburb... Mine weren't reusable, but something that crucial ought to be replaced.

I found out the hard way that most parts stores won't carry them. The stuff they do have will fit, but the bolts themselves are like 2/3 the thickness of the OEM stuff. Beware.
