anybody bought a nice shop bar stool kinda deal? with decent cushioning? I'd like to keep it under a hundy..... back isn't necessary, but i wouldn't complain...

i see stuff like this,

https://www.amazon.com/Budget-Stool...id=1517518488&sr=1-36&keywords=bar+stool&th=1

but as i read reviews on a bunch of these, they all talk about uncomfortable, thin cushions, etc...

i'd consider a hydro drafting kind of deal too...

I'd do this one since I have Prime, if it came in and I didn't like it I'd just put it on the next truck back to them and get my money back!

I have a shop stool like those above. The vinyl has split along the edge and the foam is coming out. My replacement is gonna be a simple wood bar stool and cover the seat myself with a piece of leather

I like that OEM one tho

apparently you can get that OEM one thru a few places, color schemes and such... I do like the idea of a metal frame... I had a wood one at some point but my fatarse broke it.. but I'm VERY leary of the foam/covering on many of these.. they do make cushioned stool covers.. my buddy who does leather work could make me a sweet one.. he did our bass boat cushions.. but round would be vastly harder than a square one...

I like that OEM with the backrest..no orange color tho  .... The vinyl/foam seat covers do not like welding or cutting near them from my experience either. find a wood one made out of that strong Jersey oak :waytogo:

tho it doesn't move a lot, 28" to 32" is a pretty good height i think...

i do really like the back rest one tho...

I am glad this thread is not about pictures of poop in shops.

I was apprehensive about clicking on it with this crowd.

I put a PRP roadster seat on mine when the pad went away. Then I lit it on fire while welding. Don't do that.

Make some..:waytogo:

Wouldn't take more than a day to whip up a few frames. Another day to make a few cushion tops. Then you get the height, shape and cushion you want. Plus a material you know will hold up

if i had reasonable materials around the shop to do it, i would have considered it. don't think 1.5 DOM fits the bill.. ;) plus i can't justify the labor going to that when i've got eleventy other projects..

i popped on a standard double ring style one last night.. it's reviews say it is well built, albeit poorly packed....

but i have a suspicion that all of em are the same... same with the backed ones.. just different colors from vendor to vendor.. I'll give a review..

badump bump...

funny thing in this whole shopping endeavor..... i soon realized the market was a bit limited, AND peeps on eghey iz cwazies! :haha:

I was seeing that same sears craftsman one posted earlier, that i had seen on amazon and other vendors on eghey selling it for like $60.. yet when i would do price "high to low" just to peak at anything fancy schmancy in 200, 300 range... same exact seat for like $249 and such... "boyfriend gift" and titles like that... nozzles of jizz they are, they are.... :pimp:
