Down the road I'd like to rewire my 1978 k5. No electric windows, no electric fuel pump at the present time. The truck did come with AC and heat but all of that has been removed, previous owner I assume. Only add on I have now is dakota digital gauges.

I was looking at this one.

I used a Painless kit in my 67 GMC C15. It was pretty good. Did a harness in my buddies 70 Camaro with an American Auto Wire. The painless was nice for modified. The aaw was super easy for stock.

Yeah, the American auto is about $200 more for what appears the same amount of circuits

My painless has the blade style fuses. Some of the AAW have glass. Not a big fan but are nice for the purists.

I bought a dash harness from Jabin Wood / Harnessworx on Facebook. He let me totally customize the harness and the final product I received was plug & play like a factory harness (no further assembly, etc), cheaper than Painless too.

When I asked Painless about adding / deleting circuits I was told to either buy a harness with more circuits or tie away unused circuits I didn’t want, I felt these were pretty poor options for the price.

That said, the guy I used has some unfavorable reviews on another forum related to late or non delivery. Because of this, I did message him frequently for status. My harness was quoted at 4 weeks and it took about 7, late but not horrible. I would buy from him again but do so cautiously.

I wish there would have been an "out of the box" wire harness for my 1991 V3500 crew cab. Those 91 V3500 with the 4L80E transmissions are a weird combonation of GM/Gen-3 square body truck, and GM/Gen-4 truck technology. I had to build my own wire harness from scratch.
