Ive seen them with 6.5Ls also. I should call and ask. My wife already Said "Hell No".
There is an identical one here, but with a 6.5TD. And there is a 2003 same setup. Both are under $4k.

Pretty easy to find a normal bus. What intrigues me is the supposed front axle conversion already completed. 'Twould be an interesting chassis for a camper build,

That doesn't bother me at all. When you go to a class A high school with a total K-12 school enrollment of 250 on a good year, you take short buses everywhere.
Ours never got that big. We generally took vans when we had to go somewhere. The bus was for super special occasions.

When we had a bus, it wasn't short. When we didn't, we just had an empty parking spot.

I saw a very similar bus for sale locally ,4x4 conversion (special ordered ?)--and it had a 6.0 LS engine and 4L80E transmission..
