I wanted to document some of the rust repair I've done on my K20, uhh, I mean Blazer here in the hopes it might help someone out. I am using a TIG welder that in my opinion is easier then trying to work with a MIG considering that the LMC sheet metal is paper thin, but all-in-all it's not that bad . When I bought my truck it came with some TABCO replacement sheet metal that is nice and thick; however, I could only use the kick panel as the other stuff wouldn't work; the size of the replacement panels were too small.

The welding in is the easy part, it's the constant grinding, cutting, sandblasting, and painting that sucks.

I did something here I think will help in preventing future rust: Instead of overlaying metal and lap welding stuff in like the Rocker backing, I cut everything to where I could butt weld the pieces together.

You might notice a lot of my pieces are warped. I just don't have the patience to tack weld or weld beads incrementally away from each other; I lay down some tacks, and floor it.

I'm using Summit (Kirker) Epoxy primer; I can't believe I've used 3/4 of a gallon, and I'm still not done.

Ok, hold on to your seat belt-not too hard though- you'll yank it out of the floorboard.
