A guy I know across the street is selling a 1970 chevy impala, white 4dr. He wants $1500 for it but since he knows me he'll sell it to me for $1000 and I'm really tempted to buy it. It has a little very light surface rust. Everything is stock except the dual exhaust. 350, th350 heard it run and it sounds great. I have a nice qjet 4bbl and hei dizzy and some hedman headers I could put on it since its smog except. With that and a flat or gloss black paint job I could easily sell it for way more what I'd buy it for. The problem is I really dont need another gas guzzler. My truck isnt my daily driver, I have a little honda shadow I ride around but I'd be using way more gas cause I would actually drive this car. I also dont have $1000, I could probably get it soon enough but still that would mean putting off some things I wanted to do to my truck, like putting a lockright in the front. What should I do?

If it were me I'd buy the car BUT I am addicted to buying cars/trucks, letting them go however is another story... Luckily most of my finds are under $500. :wink1:

buy it, you can never have too many!!!

I'm getting a 84 t bird soon...free and a
1974 c20 also free both will get sold and scraped then I can buy this 89 crew cab I found ......

Oh yeah, forgot to say that the th350 will have to go eventually if I got it, I like my cars manual. Dont like wheelin standards, but its no fun driving an auto car anymore. So as much as I'd like to think the car wouldnt be a money pit, it'd probably end up just that. Ill have to take the car for a test drive but my first impressions are pretty postive....If only I had the money....

Save the money for the locker , you know it will be a better and more fun truck.

Buy it. I still kick myself for passing up some of those rust free old cars when I lived in San Diego. Here I am now in the rust belt and I can't afford the rusty crap that's here. I love my trucks but want an old car too!

Buy it. At the very least you can park it and drive it once a week.

Oh man now I find a car I've always wanted on CL-a 1970 el camino. For $1900. I think I'm gonna look at that today, just to check it out. Now I just need more money....

I love the 68-72 el caminos, chevelles, and impalas too. But that el camino is a little higher on my list of favs than the impala. If the impala were 2dr or manual I'd consider it more. But man I really want that el camino now
