Im twin sticking a 205 i got from a guy, th 400 version...

Before I took the shift rail out, i was messing with the gears, and i wasnt able to turn the input gear by hand. I was able to turn yokes, in certain gears, and other gears they would be locked aswell.

It should turn by hand in all ranges. I have seen them locked up if the gears are rusty or the shift forks/rails are messed up, or there is a blown up bearing and a chunk is between the gears.

Also... did you have the shift rail connector plate on? If one shiftrail is in hi and one in low it will not turn.

i did not have that on, and i wasnt really paying attention to wear they were, i was more or less just moving them around..

The inside of the case looked clean, no shavings, and the oil looked really good when i drained it. i have one of the shift rails out right now,

what can i do to check this right now? im gonna go down and screw with it right now a little bit.

it seems as if the middle gear, the big one between the front out put, and the input.. is stuck.

or maybe im just not doing something right.

I had the adapter bolts finger tightened in the hole, a couple were threaded in too far, back em out, and now she turns :doah:
