should i be honored or pi$$ed

I was at a car show recently and there was a guy taking pictures one person was telling him well yelling at them not to and jumping in the pic so forth. So i asked why they said he takes the pictures and sells them on the net for a profit without the owners permission. People these days trying to make a buck of all youre hard work and money.

Call him out on it. I wouldn't be happy if someone posted a pic of my ride on the net without my permission.

Tell him to pull the pic...I wouldn't be happy at all if I were you. He is using your hard work to sell his product, and he is doing it without paying you for the piviledge of using the pic.

Time for a business letter, requesting when picture was posted and how many views since the picture was posted without permission of the owner of the vehicle or just compensation for world wide exposure in an attempt to make a profit.

Nice law firm letterhead on top. Throw a case # in just for fun. Then put in a statement something like, "To avoid costly legal litigation and negotiate settlement terms please contact ___________ at this address.

Well, with all the time yapping here, did you contact the seller on ebay? :) Id tell him to pull it or give you proceeds and that the picture was indeed copy writted thru CK5.com.

just out of curiosity, does your truck even have poly body mount bushings?? if not, than you could sue them for false advertizing ;)

i'd b pissed too...like stated above, its property of ck5 so it has some sorta copyright attached to it...free advertisement is cool but not w/o permission...

I would be contacing him ASAP and letting him know that he doesn't have any right to be posting YOUR pic on the net without your approval first. If you were to take him to court over this and were able to prove how much money he's made since using your truck on his posting you would be legally able to be compensated for his misuse of YOUR pic.

I wouldn't want anyone posting pics of my truck without my prior approval. Maybe you should play him and tell him that's your buddies truck and ask him if he got permission to use the pic. Just to see what he has to say first, then explain to him that it's actually YOUR truck and that unless he compensates you for the illegal use you'll be forced to take further action.

I had a guy taking pics of my truck when I was at lunch one day. So I went up and just said "it's not for sale!". He told me that he was in the area to take pics for opening shots for "The office", and it looked like it fitted in with the "Whole Scranton theme". I said the I just work in Scranton, would not live in the F@ckin town, and it would cost him too much to put a pic of my K5 on TV. I check out the begining of the show now and then to make sure it's not there. But I'm sure that if I didn't approach him, he wouldn't search me out for permission.

was browsing ebay when i say this ad. Wow! that truck is a spitting image of............... well its my truck :D. Im not sure how i feel about it.

very interesting.

if they are close by, I would buy a set for the heck of it, and go pick them up in your blazer, and politely ask for royalities for using your image without your written consent. lol. jk I dont know what I would do about something like that. I guess its pretty cool that somebody thinks your truck is cool enough that it can help them make money, its also a badass blazer btw.

I agree with everyone else, especially 70jimmy. Get ahold of him and give him three options: take it off, pay you, or face legal action.
