Should I be scared of my 6.2?

Why do I keep thinking of pulling it out? I may be pushing it with the current turbo but will it really fail at any moment? I am adding a nv4500 so it should help the revs at speed. If it does fail am I silly to think I should just buy another and run it to failure?

What boost are you currently running? The HX turbos are a better design than the GMx ones WRT backpressures as well...so unless you're really boosting/fueling and bouncing off the gov, then you shouldnt have much to worry about

Idk, turbo 454 on lpg like I had in my k30 or a 5.9 cummins. Both are pretty expensive. At the turbo I am seeing 15 psi "tee"ed into the line going to the waste gate. I should check at the hat. It has the pump turned up 3/8ths (I think, need to look at my wl) of a turn and has need the governor but not often.

Heck yah you should be scared of it.

Of course its the same way you should be scared of well any other motor that wasn't built for forced induction.

I'm scared of mine too--its always sounded like a stonecrusher,but lately its got another disturbing knock in addition to its usual clattertrap noise..something like a woodpecker tapping on a hollow log..only does it mostly when pulling or at light throttle..makes me wonder if and when its going to grenade..

If I had the ability to do an engine swap I'm not so sure I'd want a diesel again--but its a pain swapping a gas engine in a diesel vehicle--be best to have the whole donor truck so you'd have all the bits and peices that had to be changed..sometimes putting back what was in it sucks bad enough..
