Well I bought a 76 during the summer that is a rust bucket, I mean driver and passenger floor you can stick your feet through, rockers are GONE, rear floor has lots of problems but I plan on boat siding it and having a beater rig, or I found this http://charlotte.craigslist.org/cto/907034926.html the floors are definately rusted out but have been patched (not well but you cant see through them) the rockers need work but I would cut them out an put steel tube in their place as a slider, I didnt have a magnet to check for bondo but there didnt seem to be rust over the rear wheels like most. He says it will start, I put the battery out of my truck in it and it wanted start but Im thinking maybe old gas and it just wont do it (no air filter so I didnt want to pump the gas to convince it, afraid of fire). Rear floor in it has surface rust nothing major, tailgate is shot though. What would yall do?

I'd show up with $750, but would probably pay $800 for it. It looks cleaner than my 87. But I think that is a decent price, especialy for a full vert. If one of those came up for sale around here, in that shape (it could be allot worse), it would go for allot more then $800. But I'm in the rust belt. I see 2000 and new vehicles that are full of rust.

I don't think that price is out of line. A vehicle that age around here is lucky to have any floor or bed left. I'd buy that right now to get a full convertible blazer. Look it over good though, rockers and floors are easy, its the rear crossmember and bed and wheel wells that get tricky to replace. Also the seam around the wheel well between the inner and outer quarter panel is a good indicator of major rust. If your still interested offer less, you always haggle, its a rule, LOL

I looked it over pretty good, the floors seemed to be the worst, but they have been patched and I already have new floors from LMC that came with my 76. The rear floor had some surface rust but nothing bad at all, some sanding and Rust bullet and it should be good to go. The rockers had holes but like I said I would replace with tube anyway. I really thought for a 75 that it didnt look to bad rusted for $800, he said he had had it a while and needed to get rid of it (getting ready to move and no way to move it) so maybe I can offer him $650 or $700 and go from there. I was thinking just swap the axles from mine to this one, part the one I have, and hopefully come out about even? How much can you part a running 76 with 350/350/203 for?

So he dropped the price to $500, I believe I am going to be paying him another visit, probably with a trailer behind the truck!:D
