Well, I've finally decided I'm going to put an LQ4 (Vortec 6.0L Engine) into my 86 K-5 :Dand I came across one for $1500 plus $150 for shipping and that would be for a complete motor with accessories, wiring harness, ECU, etc. and only 24K miles on the motor:thinking:

Should I take this offer?:deal:

I know people have done this swap, how did you work out for you and would you recommend doing it. I like these Gen III motors and want one so just looking for some honest opinions

seems like a solid deal to me. 6.0's are hard to find around me but the ones I have seen go for about that with way more miles on them. I know people who have droped way to much money into these swaps but if you plan it all out right it would be a sweet engine to have. 360 ft-lbs would be so much fun.

Ryan B. knows a lot about these swaps and could probably answer an questions you have as well as make you a sweet harness to make things easy

edit: there is some solid tech here to if you poke around www.ls1tech.com

yes yes and yes. you will love the swap...BUT dont have a set budget. and if you do, be ready to double it because there is always something or some cost that you didnt see coming that will rear its ugly head. If your not careful, it will nickel and dime you to death, thats what my swap did to my(same 6.0 in a 91 fullsize blazer)budget and I ended up having to sell it after it was completed to help pay for college...Do lots of research first.

ls1tech has a conversions page that has an insurmountable amount of info kinda parallel for chevy tech on this site.
