Cruising through Craigslist I came across a 4 core radiator that will bolt into my 77. Owner owns a radiator shop, says it was installed in his 78 before he scrapped it. Claims he barely drive it except in the winter for his plow also says he pressure tested it with no leaks and flushed it and painted it. He wants 350, is this a good deal? What should I look for?

$350? Hells no.

My opinion. I mean I know I'm cheap, but still.

Like others said , NO

For that money you could buy a Griffin or Be Cool or other aftermarket performance models.

Quoted for truth

Honestly though, it really depends on what type of core is in it. Find out what the tube centers are on it, and how many fins per inch. That could be a 600 dollar radiator. My dad owns a radiator shop, and depending on what the customer wants, you can get the equivalent of a 6 row radiator out of a 4 row with no problem, but its $$$$$.

Price aside, it boils down to what does the OP want out of a nicer bigger radiator? Is his shot, and figure might as well upgrade. Overheating, towing? Could always go to a junk yard and snag one from a 6.2 and be good to go for next to nothing.

True. Just throwing another opinion into the mix :thumb:
