Should I make my exhaust longer?

So its a K5 Blazer.

When I got it, lots of exhaust would enter the cab.

The header gaskets were bad, doughnuts were bad as well. I replaced those, which helped.

Rear window gaskets were missing. I installed new ones and that helped a lot for keeping exhaust out.

The tail pipes end near the back of the fuel tank. Maybe 6-10 inches before the rear bumper.

I still do get a little bit of exhaust in the cab from time to time, and the exhaust is fairly loud in the cab, especially when its peddle to the metal (all the time).

So is the exhaust pooling under the back of the rig do to the short exhaust? Is the noise being reverberated back as the sound waves hit the rear bumper and underside of the body?

Should I extend the exhaust out to be in line with the back bumper? Or past the rear bumper?

Thanks.

The general accepted tailpipe spot on a K5 is out the side behind the rear tire. Anything out the rear will come into the truck at the rear window. If you open the window or run with the top off, or soft top, exhaust out the rear by the bumper swirls right into the back of the truck. Extend the pipe out the side.

Sounds good. I would work on routing them behind the rear wheels.

Yes like @HankScorpio mentioned if the exhaust is coming out in the back even with window closed, if there's a bad seal or a tiny hole the fumes make their way inside.
The only solution is the side behind the tires.
Try to make them under the edge of the inner fender so they are as forward as possible without getting in the way of the tire
