On my dads 2006 Chevy 1500 the passenger side wheel bearing unit went out at 45,000 miles (it was Timken from the factory too). I already replaced the bad one, I bought two but havent done the driver side yet. Should I go ahead and replace it or should I return it?

already there. do it as you already have it.

and do not use a impact to install the nut. only to remove it.

and tourqe spec is 177 ft lb on 4wd. 2wd is factory set so no nut or tourqe spec. hope this helps.

Those bearings are notorious for going bad if you have larger tires and or wheels with a different offset than factory.

I just did one on a 2001 1500, if i were you i'd wait untill it goes then do it, as its not a very fun thing to do. also as stated above torque the big nut to 180 ft lbs

in two weeks after you take it back, the next one is gonna laugh at you and go out.
