Major dilema to ponder!!!

I've got a DEAD '78 K5 in half-way decent shape..Here is the problem list...

Spun bearing, not sure connect or main, have oil pan off...
Front axles out..bad cardon joint front.. spun spindle bearing
T/case in hi-loc to have vehicle move before engine went out..
when bought 2 yrs ago was told engine was out of Suburban..
will have to pull engine, trans, t/case just to fix crank if it is bad...
had some bad oil and trans fluid leaks before death of engine...
need seats for front... back OK...
Need hood and some rocker panels...as they almost always do..

Now for the upside...
Friend will be able to rebuild tranny cheap...GM dealer tranny guy :D
Friend knows motors will help that area... :D
Have tools and probably some time to be able to do RESTORE...

Would anyone go ahead and mess with it????

Have items for new front joint, just need crosses, have the middle kit...
New Stub Shaft from Dana in box in garage...

Would tear T/C apart if it was out...and put P/T kit in...

With gas as high as it is... kinda tough to handle as a daily driver...

Is it worth it

If your gonna fix all those items, it wont be used for a daily driver for a minute anyhow. I say take your time and fix it. Get a toy pickup for a daily driver-gas mileage plus dependability.

ya, get a yota or something. thats what im doing. im getting a yota on saturday and will have my k5 sit in the garage getting new 52s with 38s and narrowed and top cut off. it will be out for a while.
