Ok well im deciding on selling my 82 K10 for a 75 K5, my truck has some problems like needs body bushing, suspention bushings, exhaust fixed, tie rod ends, needs new tires, some rust fixed, and a bad tranny. If i decide to sell it i would fix most of those things for the next owner and to try and get the most out of it, the K5 im looking at is lifted with new 37's toyo m/t's, rebuilt engine about 30K ago, has some rust on the floorboards that im waiting for pics of, tranny was rebuilt, and it already has heavy duty bumpers and fog lights, well i love the room the K5 has and to hold exta passangers, but i think i would kinda miss having the bed, but i have a trailer if i ever need to tow something with the K5. They both have 350/350/205's because my 82 is sitting on a 76 frame. what do you guys think? heres a pic of my k10 and the k5

My $.02. Just by looks alone, the K10 looks nicer but for my tastes the tires are too big/wide to have much use unless you are doing a lot of sand driving. What axles are under each? As much as I like my and others K5's the money you spend to get the truck in saleable condition you probably won't get back when sold. If it was me, I'd put the money into the K10 and fix the problems you currently have and build from there. By the pics it looks to be a great platform to build from. The trucks bed is always nice to have and trailers are nice too but many times inconvienent (sp). BTW, if you do get the blazer you may end up always being the one to carry 500 extra pounds of people when wheeling which can be a big PITA and your blazer may not perform or handle as well with that many people in it. Hope that helps. On my end. Even though I have a K5 with a lot of HP and torque (400sbc) I can feel a difference in performance when my fuel is full and I have myself and father in the blazer (about 530 lbs between us and 21 gals of fuel).

yea i know about the tires, they came with the truck and are about shot now, the K10 is no where in the condition anymore, frame has some rust though on the spring hangers, its cracked by the steering box and the K5 and the K10 both have 44 front and a 12 bolt rear, i have a 400 sbc im gonna build if i buy the K5 and when done ill drop it in there, and idont mind about the friends thing, i have buddys with crew cabs and jeeps and bronco's but my K10 body is really rusty and the paint is dull now and tons of dents and scraches, the front axle needs a rebuild so im confused i like the K10 but love K5's too

Ok I went through the "should I sell my pickup for a blazer" phase as well a while back... here is what it comes down to in my opinion...

Toss the drivetrain and work out the window...

Do you want a truck or a blazer?

Thats it...thats all that matters. Pick one and then go for it, fix what needs to be fixed and have fun!

Out here the fact that the blazer is a '75 would be the selling point b/c its pre-smog but is that an issue where you're at?

With all this being said, Maybe get the blazer then. Keep us posted and get a membership.

yea i love the soon and not fun having a chick with ya in the front seat of a reg cab and the room of the blazer would be nice :D but there isnt a smog thing here at all, all 94 and older dont have to go in, im in the process of gettin a membership. i have a K5 right now but the body is shot but the drivetrain is nice so i can always buy a pickup body later and make a trazer and sell this pickup and get that blazer, how much do you think i can get for my truck in IL?
