...pick up my brother in laws 98 or 99 extended cab 4x4 chevy? Not even sure what kind of motor, tranny, transfer case combo it has in it. I know the tranny is fried and engine bad. IIRC the transfer case should be ok. I really just want it to make a pickup bed trailer with it. It has the 8 ft bed I think.

Eventually I want to put a camper top on it, if I can find a cheap one, so the kids can crash in it while Im catfishing at the river/lake at night. I also want to put a big tool box on the frame in front of the bed to hold all the gear so I can just hook up and go.

how much is he asking? if its a good price i would, then scrap or junk the rest unless something is worth selling.

Im thinking it will cost the amount for gas to drag it out of his yard. It didn't sound like he is wanting anythng for it.
